10. Discover Devil’s Bridge in Andermatt
A dozen of ancient bridges across Europe are referred to as the Devil’s Bridge. This one in particular is found in the scenic Reuss Valley and crosses the Schöllenen Gorge. Today hikers take the Schöllenen circular trail, which gives the best glimpse of the gorge, the Reuss river and the bridge. Although surrounded with precipitous cliffs, the hike is easy and takes about 30 minutes to complete.

9. Relax in Therme Vals
Swiss wellness institutes and spa centers are worldwide famous. Therme Vals is an exquisite thermal bathhouse surrounded with mountains, glaciers and rivers. 7. Drive Furka Pass
The road stretches in the Swiss Alps at an elevation of 2 429 m (7 969 ft). That being said, it is one of the highest roads in Europe. Furka Pass provides a truly scenic ride – panoramic views, the height, twists and turns – unsurprisingly James Bond saga was filmed here: you can admire the road in „Goldfinger“. This is also regarded as one of the most dangerous and difficult roads. The precipitous slopes aren’t easy to navigate, especially the first section.
Why go there?
Certainly one of the most scenic rides in the world. Furka Pass sprawls over the spectacular surroundings, providing a breathtaking experience.

6. Have a Holiday in the Cambrian Hotel

5. Explore the Swiss Alps by Rhaetian Railway
In 2008 Albula Railway and the Bernina Railway, that are part of the Rhaetian Railway, were included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The route in the Swiss Alps offers definitely one of the most beautiful trips possible.
Why go there?
The train passes mountains, bridges, tunnels – the passengers can enjoy gorgeous landscapes during the ride. The Albula Tunnel is the highest one in the country. The train reaches the highest point of 2,253 m along the Bernina route.

4. Drive the Brienzer Rothorn Railway
The breathtaking panoramic views to the Waldemme valley and Lake Brienz attract thousands of tourists every year. The train also passes tunnels carved in the rock and makes breathtaking loops. It takes about an hour to reach the summit, where restaurants and guest houses pay a warm welcome to everyone. You can also admire the views while hiking: there is a trail that stretches between the stations.
Why go there?
It is the fourth highest railway in the country, that provides wonderful panoramic views, great service and facilities. One of the best scenic rides we have seen!

3. Visit Oeschinen Lake
Found at an elevation of 1,578 m (5,177 ft), the lake is a real mountain jewel, protected by UNESCO. Oeschinen is fed by a fresh underground water and is rich in various fish. Fishing is a popular activity here, especially in winter, when the lake is covered by thick ice. The whole area is also loved by hikers and skiers.
Why go there?
The breathtaking landscape attracts many tourists all year round. In summer it is all green and flowery, suitable to have an exhilarating hike in a fresh alpine air, while in winter skiing, snowboarding and ice fishing attract winter lovers. There is even an exciting cable car lift to the lake!

2. Go to Piora Valley Lakes
Ritom, Cadagno and Tom are three lakes in the gorgeous valley. Surrounded with the mountainous landscape, these alpine lakes create a breathtaking view. Also Lake Cadagno is meromictic, which means it has layers of water, that do not coalesce. There are only few such lakes in Europe.
Why go there?
The valley can be reached by a funicular, which also promises great views. Visitors go on a hiking tour, which approximately is completed in 3.5 hours and encompasses all three lakes. There are various lodges and opportunities to eat, while enjoying the panoramic sites. The specialties include famous local Piora cheese.
