Corinth – an Eternal Center of Peloponnese, Hellas (Greece)

A city, whose history began in 700 BC, was built on the foundation of Ancient Corinth. Today it is the cultural center of the region. Tourists usually come here by boat, which goes through the Corinth Canal – a narrow canal carved in the rocks in the 19th century. Today it is used mostly for the touristic purposes.

The city is located in the amazing environment: it is surrounded with the Aegean Sea from one side and with mountainous landscape from another. There are two main museums, that introduce to the local history. The impressive ancient ruins of temples, fountains, agora and other exhibits can be explored in the archaeological site of Ancient Korinthos. Acrocorinth – a Medieval castle – is another popular attraction. After explorations tourists can relax on the beautiful beaches.

Why to go there?: Great destination with various cultural attractions and beaches.
When to go there?: All year round. For the water activities go there in summer.
How to get there?: Get there by car, train or boat. A trip by the 6 km long Corinth Canal is the favorite one.
