Giola, is located on the Greek island of Thassos, and it is situated near a village called as Astris. This is the most natural swimming pool which is just separated from the sea with a narrow strip of rock. At high waves this pool is accumulated with fresh water.
What to See
You may have heard about the island of Thassos already: the mythological Syrens, who have attracted sailors with their beautiful singing, have resided here. Aegean Sea rinses its shores and fills the pool with water. But since the pool is separated from the sea with a rock wall, the water in the lagoon is much warmer, making it much more pleasant to dive in.

Giola Thassos is a stunning natural lagoon, like a swimming pool fixed into the rocks. The water is slightly warmer than the sea, which makes it enjoyable for swimming. There are rocks present around the pool which people use it for diving from a great height.

In order to arrive at Giola, drive from Poto to Astris. After the hotel Aeria you will find a sign indicating to Sirens. Turn left and follow the dirt-road. After a while you will get to a beach. There, you can park your vehicle since the route becomes tougher. Ascend the road on your left, whose end you can park your car as well. From that spot, descend towards the shore. There are many signs and signals with arrows showing the direction. It is recommended that you a high four-engined or an off-road vehicle. The overall distance from the main road is about 2km.
